Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When I have the machine connected and start the vehicle “EMCY code received” appears on the screen.
A. This code relates to battery voltage and sometimes appears when connected to power points and not the battery. Disconnect and reconnect the power leads or alternatively use a fully charged battery or battery pack. The code is telling you the machine has a poor power/earth connection.

Q. Connected to a petrol fuel system and fuel is coming from the EVAP system.
A. Many petrol engines only have a feed to the fuel system and the other pipe is for the EVAP system, not a fuel system return. Looping these pipes pumps fuel into the system filling the carbon canister. Connect the machine with the feed pipe only and disable the fuel pump.

Q. DPF clean carried out and the pressure reading is still the same after treatment.
A. Some engine management systems take in excess of 20 miles to reset. Carry out a longer road test. It is also important to reset the DPF data, this is in addition to removing or resetting any fault codes. Note: not all diagnostic equipment h has the facility to reset the DPF data for every vehicle. Equipment used and vehicle used on will vary.

Q. Connected to carry out a fuel system clean, when I start the vehicle the pressure goes up over 5 bar.
A. The feed and return pipes are the wrong way around.

Q. I have run the vehicle on a fuel system clean and it emptied the tank very quickly.
A. The machine is not connected to the common return and the treatment is being returned to the fuel tank. Check connection on the data centre. Reconnect machine to the common return incorporating Fuel pump, injector and fuel rail returns.

Q. Running a DPF program and the cleaner has been added and the screen has not gone to the count down.
A. Sometimes when pouring the product into the tank it can flip the level sensor on to the ledge. Remove the lid of the DPF tank and move the level sensor. The screen will change to the timer.

Q. Carrying out an intake clean where is the best place to connect.
A. The strict rule when cleaning any intake system is we always connect directly to the manifold with the shortest straightest connection possible. DO NOT connect before the turbo or intercooler or by the air box. It is advised to check the level of contamination and the DPF soot loading (where fitted) before treatment.

Q. Running a fuel system clean the vehicle is running and “unregulated pressure” is flashing on the screen.
A. Turn the black dial anti-clockwise until the yellow marker meets the blue bar on the bottom left-hand side of the screen. This will remove the warning.
